The recently released report by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated Healthcare raised a large variety of issues surrounding integrated healthcare. How should we take them forward? Which do you think are the key ones?

A really good report. Has this been seen by government ministers and NHS commissioners. The most important thing is widening access to CAM for patients.

Yes, the Report has been seen by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and other Ministers, and raised in the House of Commons Chamber. The PGIH’s members have distributed it to their members but we would encourage everyone to publicise even wider via social media. Further action is imminent on a number of recommendations.

GPs are severely overworked and time constrained in the NHS. We should be making more effort to keep patients from visiting their GP as a first option for conditions that a pharmacist or other professional could advise on. This would give doctors more time with patients who do need to access Primary Care.
