The government has announced that businesses, including close contact services, and other public settings where people meet socially, must record contact details of clients, visitors and staff on their premises from today, 18th September. This is aimed to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
This will affect large numbers of complementary therapy businesses, which are classed as close contact services.
These details must be stored for 21 days and shared with NHS Test and Trace, if requested. The government has said that fixed penalties will be issued where businesses do not comply.
From the 24th September, complementary therapy businesses providing close contact services will have to register with the NHS site and download a QR code. There is a dedicated QR code helpline: 0800 540 4900 for anyone needing information or guidance.
